Numka

Learn your times tables the fun way – with your very own little companion.

Numka turns the times tables into a little journey – with Numi, a companion of their very own. Every sum counts: the tables earn apples, and every quiz has its own reward. That is how Numi gets fed, bathed and patched up – and grows from an egg into a legend. When your child taps Numi, it answers. So every bit of practice has a purpose, and children love coming back.

01What Numka does

Every sum does Numi good.

In Numka, every bit of practice has a purpose: the tables bring food, and every quiz its own reward. So your child never practises just for the sake of it – they always do it for Numi, too.

  • Apples

    Practising tables

Food for Numi – and that is how it grows from egg to legend.

  • Medicine

    Classic quiz

If Numi feels poorly, this makes it well again.

  • Tennis balls

    Time sprint

60 seconds of speed – then it is playtime with Numi.

  • Soap

    Connect

Pair questions with answers – then it is bubble-bath time.

  • Courage medals

    Boss fight

With courage, Numi catches mistakes – a shield for tricky rounds.

  • Reward of choice

    Reverse quiz

Think from the answer back to the question – and choose the reward freely: apples, balls, medicine, soap or courage medals.

  • Healing

    Practising weak spots

If Numi gets hurt, calm practice without a timer puts it right again.

  • Stars

    Every right answer

For avatars, designs, gadgets and new animals in the shop – paid for with stars only.

02Numi up close

Numi is alive – and always has something to say.

Numi is not just a picture but a little friend: it blinks, wags and is happy to see your child. Tap it and it answers – sometimes cheeky, sometimes encouraging, always true to its kind.

  • Tap and listen

Every animal has lines of its own, plus words of encouragement for maths. How long a speech bubble stays can be adjusted – handy for children who still read slowly.

  • The legends' big moment

Once Numi has grown into a legend, it shows off now and then: the dragon breathes fire, the octopus squirts ink, the owl turns its head – and the parrot calls out your child's name.

  • Says what it needs

If Numi is hungry, dirty or poorly, it says so – and tells your child right away how to help, for example with soap from the matching game.

03Learning and development

Small steps. Real confidence.

The times tables are often the first time children notice: if I keep at it, I can do it. Numka is built so that exactly this feeling can grow – without pressure and with progress you can see.

  • Confident first, then fast

There is no time pressure at the start. Speed only comes in once the facts are secure – one level at a time.

  • Practises what is still tricky

Numka remembers every single fact. Uncertain facts and ones not practised for a while come up more often, and mistakes are practised in weak-spot training without a timer.

  • A suggestion, not pressure

When a child answers most questions confidently over several days – already at the pace of the next level – Numka suggests that level. Whether to move on is the child's decision, never the app's.

  • Keeping at it with Numi

Numi wants to be fed, bathed and played with – and when it is poorly or hurt, it needs help. Children see that their practice makes a difference and are happy to come back.

Numi grows along

The apples from the tables help Numi grow – from egg to legend. That way your child can see what they have already achieved.

What Numka looks like

A look inside the app – just as your child experiences it.

Twelve animals to discover

Every child starts by picking an egg. The dragon comes free. With Numka Premium all twelve animals are open – six of them are unlocked in the shop with stars collected through practice. Tap an animal – it says hello.

05For parents

Peace of mind for parents.

Numka is deliberately simple: no account, no ads, no server of our own. What your child learns stays on the device – and you stay in the picture.

  • No account

Open it and start. No sign-up, no e-mail address – not even for Premium.

  • No ads

No adverts and no trackers – nothing distracts from practice.

  • Free to start

Rows 1 to 6, the dragon and the daily chest are free. Numka Premium unlocks everything: try it free for 7 days, then a yearly subscription you can cancel at any time.

  • Purchases for parents only

The way to the subscription leads through a sum meant for adults. In the shop, children pay with collected stars only.

  • Profiles for brothers and sisters

With Premium every child has their own save: their own animal, their own stars, their own progress.

  • No server of our own

Name and progress stay on the device. For Premium the app only asks Google Play whether the subscription is active.

  • Backups in your hands

Save progress as a file and take it to a new device.

Frequently asked questions

How do I change the language?

In the settings under Language. Numka is available in German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Croatian.

How do I set the difficulty?

In the settings under Difficulty. You can choose Warm-up (no time limit), Speed (20 seconds), Pro (15 seconds) and Ninja (10 seconds per question). A change applies from the next round. When your child answers most questions confidently over several days – already at the pace of the next level – Numka suggests that level on its own.

How do I use things bought in the shop?

Purchases stay in the shop, marked "✅ Owned". Tap a bought avatar or design again to use it – whatever is active shows "✅ Equipped". Numi puts a gadget on right after you buy it; another tap takes it off, and the next one puts it back on. Boosters work straight after buying. A newly bought species is chosen on the Numi page with "Change species"; it then hatches from a new egg.

Why is Numi injured?

If too many open mistakes build up, Numi gets injured. The Numi page then shows the button Practice weak spots. Once your child completes this round of ten questions, Numi is healthy again. The round has no time pressure.

When does Numi need medicine?

Numi falls ill if it has not been fed or played with for a while – after three or four days without practice, for example. Then medicine helps. Your child earns it in the Classic Quiz or picks it as a reward in the reverse quiz. Children who practise regularly hardly ever need it.

Numi’s lines disappear too quickly

In the settings under Speech bubbles you can set how long Numi’s lines stay visible – between 3 and 20 seconds. Long lines automatically stay a little longer.

Can I turn off sound and vibration?

Yes, both can be switched off in the settings. You can also reduce motion and animations there.

Does Numka need an internet connection?

Not for practising: Numka works completely offline and has no server of its own. Only to take out Premium or check the subscription status does Google Play briefly need a connection.

How do I move progress to a new device?

On the old device, open the settings (gear icon, top right) and, under Save data, tap Save file or Copy code. On the new device, open the same place and choose Load file – or paste the code and tap Redeem code.

Keep backups safe: anyone who has one can restore the progress.

The backup contains all profiles on this device; loading it replaces all profiles on the new device. Older backups with a single save go into the profile that is currently active. Premium is not part of the backup: it belongs to your Google account and is recognised automatically on the new device. If you load Premium content without active Premium, nothing is lost – everything is back as soon as Premium is active.

How do I reset progress?

In the settings under Reset progress. Two confirmations prevent accidental deletion. Afterwards, Numka starts again from zero. With several profiles, this only affects the active profile; Premium stays as it is.

Can brothers and sisters play with their own progress?

Yes, with Premium. In the Profile tab, top right under Profiles, you switch the child or add a new profile – up to five. Each child has their own animal, their own stars and their own progress. Only someone who solves the parental gate in the settings under Profiles can delete a profile.

What is free, and what does Premium cost?

Numka is free to download. Free with no time limit: rows 1 to 6 – in the quiz and in Connect too –, the dragon as a companion, the daily chest, the first four avatars and one theme in the shop.

Numka Premium unlocks everything: all rows up to 12, all animals, the whole shop and profiles for brothers and sisters. You can try Premium free for 7 days. After that it continues as a yearly subscription; Google Play shows the price in your currency before you subscribe. The subscription renews automatically every year.

Inside the game your child never pays with real money: the shop only takes stars collected through practice. In the app, the way to the subscription leads through a sum meant for adults.

Why is Numka Premium a subscription?

Numka shows no ads, has no trackers and sells no data – progress stays on the device. To keep it that way, the subscription pays for looking after the app and for new content: updates for new Android versions, bug fixes and ideas from families’ feedback. Rows 1 to 6 stay free for good; Premium can be tried free for 7 days and cancelled at any time in the Google Play Store.

What happens when Premium ends?

Your child carries on with the free version. Progress, the current animal, animals raised to legend, all profiles and the avatars, designs and gadgets bought with stars are kept. Other species – including those bought with stars – are paused: they still belong to your child and can be chosen again as soon as Premium is active. Rows 7 to 12 and the Premium items in the shop are locked again. With several profiles, only the first one plays without Premium; the others stay saved and are back straight away with Premium.

How do I cancel Premium?

In the Google Play Store: tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions, choose Numka and cancel there. In the app, Settings › Numka Premium › Manage subscription takes you straight there.

If you cancel during the 7 free days, nothing is charged. After cancelling, Premium stays active until the end of the period already paid for. Deleting the app does not end the subscription.

Do I need an account for Premium?

No, you do not need an account with us. The subscription runs through the Google account you use to take it out on Google Play; Numka knows neither your name nor your e-mail address.

On a new device with the same Google account, Numka recognises Premium automatically. If it does not, tap Restore purchase under Settings › Numka Premium.

Does Numka collect data about my child?

No. The name and progress stay on the device, with Premium too: Google Play handles purchase and payment, and the app only asks it whether the subscription is active. Details are in the privacy policy.

Is Numka available for iPhone and iPad?

Numka is coming to Android first. A version for iPhone and iPad on the App Store is currently being looked into. As soon as there is news, you will find it here.
